Autoposting

Autoposting in Telegram with ModerBot

Autoposting is one of ModerBot's features. The same bot that moderates the group publishes your scheduled messages: the rules every Monday, a daily news digest, a reminder about a meetup.

What it can do

Publishing on a schedule

Daily at a set time, or on an interval in hours — from a few hours to a week.

The group's time zone

Time is counted in the group's own zone, not the server's. A chat in another city gets the post when it suits that chat.

Image

A picture can be attached to the post — uploaded right in the panel.

Buttons with links

Buttons are added under the post: to your site, to a channel, to a sign-up form.

Formatted text

Bold, italic, links, lists — in an ordinary editor, with no markup by hand.

Several posts per group

Each with its own schedule and its own content; one you do not need is switched off with a single toggle.

Several groups

Every connected group has its own schedule and its own posts.

Editing at any time

Text, picture and timing can be changed on the fly — the next post goes out in its new form.

How to create a post

1

Open the Mini App and pick a group

In the list of groups, choose the one the post should appear in and go to the “Autoposting” section.

2

Write the text

An ordinary editor: formatting, links, emoji. Add an image if you need one.

3

Add buttons

Every button is a label and a link. Not always needed, but they lift click-throughs noticeably.

4

Set the schedule

Daily at a specific time, or on an interval in hours.

Times follow the group's time zone from the “Overview” section.

5

Switch the post on

The toggle next to a post decides whether it goes out or sits as a draft. A post that is off publishes nothing and loses nothing.

What people usually use it for

  • Communities: the chat rules every Monday — newcomers see them without scrolling the history.
  • Business: a daily post with a roundup or an offer, with no one having to send it.
  • Events: a reminder a day before and an hour before the start.
  • Support: a regular “how to ask a question properly” post, which removes half of the repeat requests.

What the bot does not rewrite

The text of the post goes out exactly as you wrote it. The bot does not translate it, does not shorten it and does not substitute wording of its own — even if the bot's language in the group differs from the language of your text. Only the bot's own messages switch to the bot's language: reasons for deletions, warnings and replies to commands.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate bot for autoposting?

No. It is a feature of the same ModerBot that moderates the group: one bot, one panel, one account.

How many posts can I set up for one group?

As many as you need. Every post has its own schedule: one goes out every morning, another every six hours.

Which time is the schedule based on?

The group's time zone, which is set in the “Overview” section. Not the server's time and not yours — otherwise a post for a chat in Dubai would go out in the middle of the night.

Can I add an image and buttons?

Yes: an image, formatted text and buttons with links. It is all set up in the Mini App, with no HTML to write by hand.

What happens if the bot loses its rights in the group?

The post will not go out, and you get a direct message saying which rights are missing. The schedule and the texts are kept as they are.

Is there a limit on group size?

No. Autoposting, moderation and digests currently work for free in groups of any size — there is no limit on the number of members.
